My father-in-law was MSgt Kenneth C. Neal, radio operator in C-47s, 433rd Troop Carrier Group. 68thTCS. They were on New Guinea from August through November 1943. Since the TAIU found the nearly flyable Oscar at Lae in September, this coincides. - Ashley Messenger.
The C-47 is, as far as we can tell, Kenneth's airplane. He has been dead for decades, so we have no way to know for sure. It is serial #42-23863, and carried the name "The Gray Ghost" Maybe someone who sees this will have some more information. |
