RS Models kit # 7281
Nakajima Ki-201 Karyu
by Bobby Kasza
This is a rather basic kit molded in a tan/beige resin, but not "rubbery" like the Ki-79A/B kits. The kit is also a little more cleanly molded. There is a little bit of flash, but not much. There is a decent cockpit interior (this one includes an instrument panel), along with molded in side wall detail. A nice vac-form canopy is included. There are nicly molded white metal landing gear included. Like I stated above the kit is very simple. Parts outline matches the drawings in "Japanese Aircraft of the Pacific War" dead on. I wonder if they used these drawing to make the kit?? No marking information is provided, except for the box cover painting which shows an aircraft in dark green over orange shooting down a B-29!! Decals are included, hinomarus only, and these come from RS Models Nakajima Kikka kit, and a a bit undersized. But being that this is the only kit available of this aircraft, I would reccomend it.
