Mitsubishi Ki-2
Purpose: Light bomber with the
qualities of the Junkers Ki-37.
Description: Army Type 93 Twin
engined light bomber. This was basically the Japanese versoin of
the Junkers K-37. The plane was obsolete in 1941 when the war
started.
Revisions & Types:
Ki-2-I
- Three or four man crew
- Maximum speed 260 km/hr
- Service ceiling of 7000m
- Enclosed nose turret for the lower gun position
(specified but denied in the final spec)
- Open nose gun position
- Open air cockpit
- 450hp Jupiter engines
Ki-2-II
- 550hp Type 94 Engines
- Retractable undercarriage which folded forward
into the engine nacelles
- Corrugated panels on the wing were replaced with
smooth skin
- landing light was fitted in a fairing under the
fuselage
- Twenty 15kg bombs could be carried internally
