Mitsubishi Ki-1

Purpose: A replacement for the Kawasaki Type 87 Heavy Bomber.

Description: Same as a Junkers K-37, which was imported from Junkers Sweden and donated to the Army.

Revisions & Types:

• Ki-1-I
  • Rolls-Royce Buzzard engines rated at 800 hp engines
  • Inflight Single engine capability
  • Bombload was to be 1000-1500 kg
  • Operational altitude between 2000m & 4000m
  • Max speed of 240 km/h
  • Armament included 3 - 7.7mm machine-guns
• Ki-1-II
  • Engines were moved lower on the wing and the undercarriage was extended and streamlined with a trouser type fairing.
  • Cockpit canopy was extended to include the rear gunners position
