This is Hasegawa A6M - 3 in 1/48, built straight from the box, even the
decals.
It's painted with Tamiya IJN green and grey, and the chipped paint effect was made over the green paint with Humbrol Metal Cote aluminium
applied with a fine brush, and drybrushing then the edges to get a feather look.
I weathered with washes, some before, and some after the chipping.

It's Hasegawa's 1/48 A6M3. I won the 1/48
prop. class at the Swedish IPMS Open 1996 with this one. Most decals
are "out of the box". Most of the interior, engine and other
small parts are Eduard-brass or scratch, the slide part of the canopy is
own work, and there was plenty of work to thin down all the edges,
etc.. Unfortunately, not much of this can be seen in this
photo. By Mark Wlodarczyk (19 Feb 01) |
