I’m
sure they had some. Did any crash in Japan or the islands that Japan had?
Germany had some that crashed. Did Japan have any? Or what about the B-29? I
want to know if they had any and if they did are there any photos? If so, could
you send me some or give me a web site? I just don’t mean B17 or B29, I mean
all the planes they had. I would be grateful for any help you can give.

Look
right next-door in IJAAF page; Mr. Lansdale has some very nice photos of B-17s,
Buffalos and CW-21s in Japanese markings. Look under Japanese T.A.I.C.

At
least two B-17s (one D and one E) were captured and brought to Japan. They were
captured in the Philippines or Java. These were flyable and used for research
and target practice purposes. No B-29s were captured intact. Refer to the URL
below for others

One
of the captured B-17s (the D model) appeared in a wartime Japanese film about
development and early combat of the Ki-43. The B-17D is filmed being attacked by
a squadron of Ki-43s, and finally shot down. The film is "Triumphal Song of
Wind."
