While we were on a land tour of the Main Island inside Truk Lagoon called Moen I asked the guide if there were any Japanese aircraft wrecks to be seen, he replied yes and took us to a neighborhood close by... After he cleared it with the homeowner we walked into the back yard and there was the Myrt... The story is that it was shot down by friendly fire during our offensive against Truk in 1944... I'm not sure if that's really true or not but it sure sounded good to me.
